A Schizophrenic Psychologist?

Sounds bad but sort of makes sense??

We have heard of schizophrenic painters, depressed scientists and mathematicians and all. What if we have a schizophrenic psychologist?

Hear me out.

A schizophrenic psychologist will know what it is really like to have schizophrenia. As a doctor and a researcher, this guy will be able to relate to patients. With his expertise, he will be able to create effective managing strategies, probably the best. Of course, he will require a team for this. He has to manage himself and work, which is only possible if he himself is not severely impacted. Maybe his teammates can put him in observation without meds to see how he is working to research further and develop safer environments for all schizophrenic patients. Maybe create an establishment that supports the patients by providing healthcare, therapy, regular medical checkups, work opportunities, etc.

Where does air go in a closed room?

Sometimes I wonder if I am great or a dumbhead

Staring at my air conditioner while trying to sleep, I wondered what happens to air in a closed room. My mind wasn’t exactly working due to exhaustion and it seemed like such an intriguing phenomenon, “Where does the air go if this whole room is closed with the ac off but the fan is working?” I noted this question down to research later and write a blog.

Now I realise why 5 hours of sleep everyday can be a bit harmful.

The air doesn’t go anywhere, it gets warm. This is basic middle school science. We exhale carbon dioxide while breathing, which is warm. As the warm air moves upwards and the cold air comes down, we increase the temperature of all the air molecules until we can no longer take it and have to turn the air conditioner back on. The fan only circulates the air around the room, allowing us to breathe more before suffocation starts to kick in. It doesn’t create air, it slaps the existing molecules to give us relief.

But, what happens when the room is completely closed and the exhaust fan is turned on? The air is being s

It’s okay to not think.

Idk who needs to hear this but it’s alright to not do anything but breathe and cry. It’s alright to take a pause and dwell on stuff that you tend to usually avoid. It’s okay to take time off from your routine and not think anything. It’s alright to simply breathe for a few days. It’s okay. It’s going to be okay. Take your time. Do whatever you want. Don’t bother thinking about responsibilities and roles and the “shoulds.” It’s okay to not be the person everyone knows you as at times. It’s completely fine. It really is.

Stuck in Line at the Checkout Counter by Rosendale. Another soft, real track by the artist. It’s like you can see how he got the idea for the track.

Focus, Think, Organise.

For all the emotional souls who struggle in laying their thoughts in front of others.

You may have a lot to say and you may be completely right, but you can’t lay down your thoughts properly resulting in no on listening to you. Let me give you an advice. Focus your energy in the right direction.

See, the world is impatient as hell. No one’s gonna take you seriously if you keep on whining and crying about how something made you feel bad. You gotta be crisp and firm. Have a talk with yourself first before saying anything to anyone. Identify your thoughts and feelings and make a plan of action. No one’s gonna take you seriously if you are all over the place. You need to learn to control your emotions and focus on what you want, not what is happening outside. Sit down alone and breather. Breathe and think. Think and organise. Organise and deduce a solution.

You can even write them down if that helps. But crying all the time really ain’t going to get you anywhere.

Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush. Love how the free, rough vocals go with the poppy music to create a soft melody. Its production has such advanced elements, I am surprised it was launched a decade ago.

Raising my self-esteem #4

Maybe my social anxiety is something I made up. Maybe I can erase it.

At times I feel my social anxiety is something that has reduced but I deliberately bring it back. I was in a massive crowd today, alone for 3 hours. And I didn’t feel any tremors or dizziness. It got suffocating because there were so many people (it was a concert). I enjoyed a lot. I was listening and jumping and shouting between the humongous crowd on my own. No claustrophobia. Maybe I feel chest pains at times because I tell myself that I have social anxiety and it’s gonna be difficult. Maybe it’s really all in my head. Maybe I can overcome this with much more ease than I thought.

But this means letting. And I am comfortable in this zone. I have accepted it and I hold it tight. Who would I be if not someone who panic seeing the crowds?

You know going out alone somehow turns out to be an adventure every time. I love walking down the lanes with no sense of direction and ending up in an unknown place. I wander. I think. I overcome something or the other. I love these small little outings of mine.

Ctrl + S irl?

Would be very convinient ngl

What if we had the option to save everything in real life? We could save our problems to solve later when we want to. We didn’t have to remember everything and could simply open a file to work, which would have been highly efficient during exams. If things got too heavy, we could pause and save our thoughts to open later when ready. We could edit our history as well as our personality. We could have our life stored in different documents. Different phases were stored in an organised manner with the facility to pick whatever we wanted to experience at the moment.

There ain’t no present

Either I revolutionised the whole world or I just need a break

Okay so I have this spiralling thought that every second is the past and every second is the future. Past because we never realize nor feel a passing second. When we think of something that has already happened, it is in the past. Future because we never know what will happen in the next second. In a way, every second is unpredictable. We live on the basis of our experiences of the past. And we always work for the future, not the present. So a present doesn’t really exists. Am I making any sense to anyone?

The system of loans & interests

If I don’t get my answers, I create them.

I googled when the system of loans and interests started and different sites are showing different results. I didn’t find the answer to my question so I made my own theory.

Barter system was invented before money existed. It involved trading items in exchange of other items. E.g.- a weaver may trade his creation to the shoemaker for a pair. The system continues till date, even at international level.

Now here comes my theory. During this time also, loans must have existed. People could rent their belongings to others and later get something else as payback. E.g.- A farmer gave a poor shepherd milk for free for some time as loan. The poor shepherd took it and once he made enough money, he gave the farmer enough wool to empty his balance. This system would work for things that have an expiry date.

The second system would be to get the item back along with something else as gratitude. This system will work for things that don’t have an expiry date. E.g.- A farmer may put his cart up for loan. A shepherd may take it for 6 months and return it in the same conditions he got the cart in. He shall also give a little wool as gratitude and humble compensation to the farmer for any inconvenience caused due to the missing cart. This extra stuff (wool) is what we call interest.

Now, a person thought why not combine the two systems and make a new system. Rent the required stuff, get either the belonging back or something else (depends on whether it will deplete/ deteriorate on use) + something else as a payment for use of the stuff rented.

E.g.- A farmer may put his cow up for loan. A shepherd may take it for 1 year. During this time, the farmer may need the cow’s milk for business but the shepherd is using it. Even if the farmer knew the conditions very well, he could say that it’s because of the shepherd that he is facing inconvenience. He would demand some sheep wool as compensation. The shepherd, being a nice guy, wouldn’t retaliate. 1 year later, he will return the cow in good condition along with some sheep wool. This was the start of the loan and interest system.

Now, when money got introduced, people treated it like normal trading object. They would lend money as loan, the people taking it would return it later, and since it didn’t have an expiry date, they gave more money as gratitude.

Businesses started expanding and money became the real deal. Paying interest wasn’t gratitude anymore. It became the norm. You take money, you gotta pay more than what you took because the lender may have faced problems. Even if he didn’t you have to pay because that’s how it goes now. Capitalism rules.

I don’t know how I created such an elaborated scenario but yeah I did, and I enjoyed it a lot. I have no clue how the system came into being so please don’t take this blog seriously. Thank you so much for reading.
