A lot of people around me tell me that student life is supposed to be enjoyable and there is no work to do and so on. I’m sorry what?? Free time? No work? Enjoy all the time? Are we living in different dimensions? I have been working my ass off since joining college? I have lost interest in watching any animes or movies because I never have any time. I am editing my research papers while travelling, wtf do you mean there is freedom in college life? It takes me 3 days to complete one episode of an anime because I only watch it while having meals which lasts only around 5 minutes. People tell me I should take out time to watch movies and go for walks. And I’m like if I had the time then I’d be catching up on my sleep but here I am, with dark circles, aching mood, and a tired af body! Just one week more. One more week till I have to pull all nighters to finish my practicals. I’ll catch up on sleep during exam leaves. Just you wait practical assessments, just you wait.🔪

I am a nerd myself but there is a world outside of books too

Finally attending classes for a week, I asked some of my classmates who are always present in all the classes everyday, from 8 to 5, what serves as their driving force to be this dedicated. I mean, I love my degree a lot but attending this many classes everyday? Fuck no! This was a conversation between three of my classmates and I. They all live around 1.5-2 hours away from college, so asking this question made more sense than ever. One of them said and I quote, “We don’t have any other life na! You are busy with your dance so you have something, we don’t.” I was dumbstruck, speechless. So I just gave a slight laugh. This happened 3-4 days ago and it hasn’t left my mind. How can any college student think there is nothing to do other than college!? I am not talking about parties and all here, but academically only! Especially because our degree is quite a demanding course in terms of resume. What do you mean there is nothing to do!? There are hobbies to explore, there are internships and gigs to do, there is literally so much to do every fucking day that I personally want to stop time and finish all my college work to focus on my extra curriculars and do some job! But I guess their viewpoint makes a lot of sense too. Sometime you got to take things slow, or indulge in one thing at a time. I also see a lot of my classmates wasting all their college hours in just smoking so I guess studying is more productive. Grades are important for further education too! But still, how can you ever believe that there is nothing to do in a world we live in, where there plenty to explore and learn!?

Debating if education is worth it anymore

I have now given up on studying before exams. I’m done. I have all the material prepared, I am clear how to approach my topics. I sit down to study. After a while, something hits in my brain and I am fed up with it all. I don’t want to study anymore. Then when I get up, I want to study.

It’s hard to study when the voices are so loud. So I plug in my headphones. No effect somehow. At times even outer noises are unable to cancel the inner noises.

It’s not just studying. I am procrastinating on all my tasks. I am delaying things till the last second. I don’t want to respond messages. I don’t want to call anyone. My nightmares spin in my head. Sleeping requires me to listen to music beforehand. It’s unbearable otherwise. I need therapy.

I’m done man we students need to get paid

Today’s blog is going to be a rant.

I WANT TO FUCKING SLEEP WHERE ARE THE FUCKING HOLIDAYS EVERYONE TALKS ABOUT!!?

I have said this before and I will say it again, us students deserve to get paid with all the bullshit we go through to get just one fucking degree. I have been working on 2 hours of sleep for the past month. I have started to forget basic tasks like eating. How does it feel now teachers? Thank you for the ill wishes of forgetting to eat because I didn’t do your useless homework! I have started showing my id literally everywhere like I enter a shop and pull out my college id! I am showing my metro card to the security guard at stations like why!!😭😭😭 And this bullshit has to continue till January. I have an exam on the fucking new year too. I have an exam on a fucking Sunday this week like what the fuck!!? One fucking day goddammit one fucking day! There was no rest on the previous weekends because of the shitload of assignments and practicals and now you are conducting exams? OH COME ON!

And you know what this is what diminishes a student’s motivation. No matter how much one love loves the subject, at the end it always comes down to exams and grades, a cycle that never ends. It’s all that is left to “study” for

I haven’t studies for tomorrow’s exam. I have just binged random videos for an hour and do I know anything about tomorrow’s exam? No. Great. I’m done I just want to eat and sleep I’ll see what to do tomorrow. It can fuck itself.

The cheap trips via random agencies

It’s no shit that they are scams but I still see my peers falling for these so I wrote about it.

Okay so I have noticed a lot of people being hyped over school and college trips, which is normal. However, there are many “unofficial” trips that are held almost everywhere, probably by the candidates running in school/ college elections, or some travel agency advertising in your institution. Such trips are heavily alluring for the costs are low and at times, free. College students, all the people your age, interesting place, that too free! It sounds like a good deal, why should you not go?

One word: safety.

This may sound a bit boomer to some people, but these trips are simply marketing strategies and no one gives a shit about your safety, or your standards of living. The organisers will gather as many people as they can, for which they will allow absolutely anyone to be on board. It may seem dreamy to you, but it is all fake in reality. Half of the time there won’t even be a trip. They’ll take your registration money and vanish. How do you know these people demanding your email, phone number and address are legit? You don’t.

So please, for your own sake, do not fall for these traps. Verify the organisers before enrolling yourself in such stuff. Even better, spend a few more bucks and go with verified people with trusted agencies.

Shitty exams

I just can’t deal with all of this shit anymore

I’m gonna be a jerk for saying this but bring back covid!! I’m sorry but I can’t deal with this shit anymore. I don’t want to see anyone’s face, I don’t want to go to new places and meet new people, I don’t want to write kilometers of senseless knowledge in my exams that will for sure contain out of syllabus questions. I have been studying hard but every time I attempt a sample paper, I find more and more weird ass questions that make no sense to me. They have 3 whole books to ask but they will decide to test something out of syllabus! Why!?

What hurts more is that these exams aren’t going to get us anywhere. In my country you need to give separate entrances for universities and these finals have absolutely nothing to do with your future. But because these have been going on since generations and were extremely important till 2 years ago, our reputation depends on it. Literally. Anything below 90% in these exams means that you are a useless burden to all.

That is what exams are in today’s world. There is no logic but you HAVE to run and win in the race because everyone is.
