100 to 20 way too quick!

And vice versa

It always strikes me as odd how the prices of otherwise extremely expensive things drop as much low. If a company can afford to give such huge discounts on their items and sell them for half their usual price, it shows how the item was not worthy of the former expensive price in the first place, and they know it too. How can the value of one of their “exclusive” products decrease so easily. If it were truly what they claimed it to be and the price was indeed justifiable, they wouldn’t cut the cost by two-thirds, even if to attract customers and increase their sales! My my oh how capitalism works!

Mental health cannot be measured by games!

Please stop using every big word you come across without knowing its meaning😭😭

As if the fake ‘psychology says’ myths, random tests on youtube and zero credibility articles weren’t enough, games are being falsely advertised as relaxing techniques too now! Word games claiming they will calculate one’s IQ are now lowkey in comparison to people describing games using any fancy looking psychology term they come across and claiming that their game is a therapeutic technique😭. It frustrates me to even watch such ads. While awareness about mental health is on a rise now, people have started using it as a marketing strategy. I once saw an ad of a puzzle game showing the Rorschach Inkblot test and saying that the image one sees is that person’s future💀. The worst part is that uneducated folks and children will believe this bullshit and think they have the same level of intelligence as Einstein! How tf do gaming companies even get such ideas!?

Cloning fragrances

*passes by a stranger
“Ayo is that Poison by Dior?”
*panicking* how did you know?
“I like Dior’s perfumes too”
Oh you are talking about the perfume. Yeah it’s nice.

Okay, so it had been a while since I wrote on a topic I researched to gain and spread knowledge but I couldn’t find a topic interesting enough to cover. Today I did. So this shouldn’t be a revelation but like any other thing, perfumes can be copied too. But before today, I had no idea that people actually made copies of renowned brands’ perfumes and sold them.

I found a lot of ways in which thieves can make these clone perfumes. A lot of times, they buy a few bottles of the perfume they want to copy and run gas chromatography on them to know what chemicals it is composed of. Then the hit n’ trial method is used by experts to get the clone as accurate as the original. The contents used can be the same as the original or cheaper alternatives.

And what do these brands who get their stuff stolen do? They try their best in court. There are times when the cloning brands say they “took inspiration” from the victim company’s fragrance, but the composition of the chemicals is different. If the victim is able to prove that their fragrance is copied, then justice is served. However this is where the trouble really arises.

In many cases, the original company isn’t even selling in the country where the cloning company is doing its business. How would they know? In addition, fragrances are difficult to identify in the detailed manner required to catch thieves. Even if the victim could identify the clone fragrance, it would be nearly impossible to prove that the clone was, in fact, a copy of the genuine product. One can’t sue anyone without full surety and concrete evidence, which in such cases, becomes tricky.

The harsh cherry on this fake cake is that cloning perfumes isn’t exactly illegal. Fragrances are allowed to be copied as long as they respect the originals’ integrity and tell people that it is “inspired.” The brand name and packaging, of course, can’t be copied.

The fact that cheaper versions of perfumes made by luxury brands are available with the same fragrance and packaging still bothers me a bit. Ain’t no way the brands aren’t aware of this. Do they just let it happen to liberate themselves from unnecessary stress? Or does this somehow work in their favor on the marketing part? There is so much more I need to learn.

Random people with random flyers at random places

May trigger some people because I mention religion

You ever are just walking by minding your own business and some person with flyers in hand asking you to come to some place and get a discount with that flyer!? I get so flustered as to why someone is stopping me in the middle of the road and asking me to come at some place. Then it clicks me, “OH promotion!” Usually I deny first hand before they start describing what is going to happen at the place because I do not have the time or patience to interact with people over useless stuff.

I also hate those inviting for religious purposes in random places with no religious site in the vicinity. No sir I do not eat the langar regularly, nor read the namaz. I don’t remember the last time I have been to a religious place so your coupons are useless to me. With the spread of communalist violence, I have to keep my straightforward ass in check to not offend anyone because people really do want to preserve something that does not exist. Isn’t it basic marketing sense to promote stuff at places where there is potential to find buyers? You won’t sell school books in front of a hospital, right?

But can people stop marketing their companies and agencies like this please!? I’m pretty sure you can market stuff over the net for free, reducing your cost, labor and increasing your engagement. It’s the 21st century!

Microsoft Edge’s marketing

🤦🏻🤦🏻

Someone had posted this on Twitter and captioned “This is kinda sad”. I agree. When you go to local markets and different shopkeepers compete by promoting their products over the others’ by lowering prices and boasting quality…Microsoft created an online version😂😂.

Chrome, since its release has been at at the top of Internet explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Safari. When Microsoft Edge was launched, it didn’t make any such difference. Most of the people including me, use Chrome as their default browser.

When I got a new laptop, I gave Edge a try, but it stopped responding in the midst of my work and all the apps downloaded from Edge didn’t work too. My half an hour work would take multiple hours to complete. I just downloaded chrome. Its navigation and functions are easier to access and learn and are at my tips at this point now.

I have seen multiple ads but seriously this one takes the cake. It is just below those ridiculous companies who call their competitors shit in order to promote their stuff.
