I am allergic to coffee

My body hates seeing me enjoy apparantly

I am a person who worships caffeine. I drink 2-3 cups of tea or coffee everyday. Since the last year, I have been having some health issues which I thought were all because of stress. But nope, my caffeine intake was very much the cause of it as well.

To make sure, I cut off tea and coffee for a week and voila! My otherwise struggling body is back on track!

But of course I’m not gonna stop. I still drink 2 cups of tea everyday. But I didn’t have any problems. Then today I drank coffee and my health is off track again!

So basically, I am allergic to one of the only pleasurable things in the world. I can’t eat more than 2 small pieces of fish at once, I can’t have humus, and now I can’t have coffee. WHAT IS THE FUCKING POINT OF LIVING!? I am allergic to everything I love! WHAT THE FUCK MAN! I used to feel good that I don’t have any allergies like others but now I have that as well. Great:)

My kid won’t have to eat to please me

I won’t ever have kids but I know I won’t be the selfish parent

I am just a teenager but among all the things I have gone through, one insignificant mistake every parent makes is blaming their child for eating too much or too less.

Let me elaborate. I grew up in a family that fed me quite a lot to maintain my health. But instead I grew fat. Very fat. Then they nagged me for being so fat and not working on being slimmer. Whenever I refused to eat more than I wanted, they scolded me for “showing attitude” and fed me more.

With puberty, the comments became too negative to bear, even if they weren’t. I realised that this needs to stop. I worked out every day for an hour. Sometimes cycling, sometimes jogging. But whenever I shed weight and stopped working out, I doubled in size. This became a repeated pattern.

Then one day, a sudden realisation hit me. I had once overheard my school nurse speaking to someone that one doesn’t get fat by eating junk food, but rather when they eat too much. This made me think. And suddenly the newspaper articles titled “Eat less but often” started making sense. I decided to cut my food intake.

So now everyday I danced for 1-1.5 hours and ate less with no dinner. I didn’t cut any fried food, cheese, chocolates like many people do, but only ate less. If I wanted to eat, I thought of my sweaty hardwork and drink water, and I no longer felt hungry. Dieting is very easy as long as you don’t think of the taste of food and drink water (water suffices hunger). You may have a hard time believing, but I lost more than 10 Kgs in 3 months! My body literally changed and everyone said that I got half of who I was. I was still fat, but average fat that would look graceful and won’t interfere with my activities. This also helped me identify my correct appetite, which many do not know.

But in spite of this, my family didn’t stop pestering me. They couldn’t get over my older habit of gobbling food like a maniac and nagged me for being moody and ungrateful. I was done. I calmly stated that I didn’t mean to hurt any feelings but only I can control my diet and because I live with my body and know it the most, I get to choose when to eat what and by how much. This made everyone realise that when I claim to be full, I mean it and I won’t eat to please them anymore.

At times my grandmother still gives me extra portion out of love, but that’s fine. She stops when I insist.

I won’t ever have kids but I still think that my child won’t have to eat to please me. Unless or until that child is getting extreme and unhealthy, I won’t question their diet or nag them for being moody just because they aren’t gobbling down fats at dinner. Discussions and suggestions would go both ways, because that is how a child learns to communicate their feelings freely.

P.S.- I am gaining a bit of weight again because I haven’t been able to work out regularly due to studies and am having dinners again. But it’s cool I’m not that fat and I will go back to my proper routine once all these exams are over. Senior year really takes a lot of time from your schedule.

Don’t ruin food please

A plea for people to stop destroying dishes for sales and views

Now that globalisation has allowed all kinds of cuisines to be served literally everywhere, and standards of eating outlets have risen, people are trying their hardest to attract people by introducing new decor themes and dishes. The thing is their ideas may not be the smartesr. Some people just give new names to existing dishes to make them sound fancy, and some mix two opposite dishes and give it a fancy name without taking into account how bad it tastes. And they are publicised by local food vloggers who only care about views and not what they are showing.

For example, I saw a guy filming a street-food stall owner making “sandwich without bread.” The person was layering fruits and different sauces on a plate. THAT IS CALLED A SALAD FOR FUCK’S SAKE! And the vlogger was calling it unique and amazing. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Common sense really ain’t that common these days.

Then we have people calling Pulao- rice with veggies as “veg biryani. (Biryani is rice with chicken.) There is a reason why there are two different names. It doesn’t matter if you use the same spices, “veg biryani” is PULAO. BIRYANI is rice with chicken.

Coming to restaurants naming simple dishes as something exotic and scamming people, I once ordered a “Thai sauce tofu with basil” at a café and they served simple Chilli Paneer. At first I thought it must be the wrong order but no, that is what they called ThaI toFu WitH baSiL.

People please stop doing that. Please don’t ruin food. Food is the only bright thing left in this hell of a world. Please don’t take that away at least🥺🥺

Bloganuary day 18: What’s your favorite meal to cook and/or eat?

I would say Korean style noodles and tteoktbokki.

I like making Korean food because then I can experiment with different sauces and somehow it always turns good. I don’t know if I am a good cook or its the magic of the food that even if I make something for the first time without any recipe, it turns out to be delicious.

I made tteoktbokki for my mom once and one day I randomly decided to make ramyeon from scratch because I was craving some. I started out with making maggi and while I was waiting for it to cook, I decided to throw in soy sauce, vinegar, red chilly powder, red chilly sauce, schezwan sauce, and seasonings, all according to my guts and boom! And it turned out to be amazing.

I like spicy food a lot as well as garlic and vinegar’s flavor. Therefore I like Korean food a lot. So many sauces and condiments.

I like eating cabbage kimchi too, though I have never made it myself.

Everone’s a farmer

Would you like to live in this pre-civilisation period?

What if every person in the world was a farmer!? Everyone would be growing their own food, meaning no food scarcity. But less variety. Accomodating everyone with land would of course reduce the variety. The whole world will be living in the primitive era with no major technology, because that would mean more jobs, and everyone’s life would be surrounded by raw material, patience, skin-tan, and simplicity. And the interesting thing is that at some point in ancient history, this was exactly how people lived.

Wrong food combinations

Nothin good left to eat at this point😥

Food is delicious, yes.

Some food combinations are gold, yes.

Can those combinations be harmful, yes.

I know none of y’all are gonna follow this but let me tell you about some of the most common food combinations that are a big no for our health. Trust me, you’re in for a shocking truth because I myself was surprised.

White bread & jam: Yup. Your breakfast is unhealthy, if you are on a diet. Bread-jam have high levels of carbs and low proteins and fats. They break down into sugar quite soon and don’t give much energy. If you eat it regularly as breakfast, then you must be feeling extremely hungry till lunch time, and you may have a habit of snacking on random things. Tbh I hate jam and white bread both, so I really don’t care. Try using brown bread and protein rich spreads like peanut butter to really fill up your precious tummy.

Bacon & eggs: Contrary to the couple above, these two are highly rich in protein. They are heavy foods and take long time to digest. So don’t eat them regularly or you intestines will resign due to work load. Tbh I have never tried bacon and eggs but heard so much about it, definitely in my must-try list.

Cheese & carbohydrated drinks: No pizza and coke from now on. I hate it too but no. These two are composed of simple carbs which get utilised too quickly. That is why you always crave for more of the delicious treat while eating and fight everyone who comes in the way. You will gain weight and attract heart diseases. Pizzerias are gonna go bankrupt if people start taking this seriously💀

Banana & milk: Anyone who loves banana milkshake? Add a pinch of cinammon or nutmeg the next time. While these two make you full and are considered super healthy for diets, they also take a lot of hard work to digest, causing fatigue. I saw this on so many sites I had to include it.

Cheese & meat: Doesn’t take a genius to figure out that eating high fat foods together will definitely harm you. I mean, everyone knows about cholestrol and heart diseases.


Did I ruin anything for you? Please tell me I did! If I suffer then you suffer hehe.😁

But for real it just occured to me how we must be eating wrong food combinations everyday. So I looked it up and it is honestly so interesting to get to know all this.

Sweet or spicy?

Why not both?

Can we just appreciate food in this post? Coz like food is not only essential for survival, but it also lifts our mood when times are hard. Not that I encourage stress eating or binge eating, but at times all it takes is that one dish you crave to make all your problems go away. I love food too much fr. And my taste is also weird. I either want something extremely spicy or something sweet(mainly chocolates). I love chocolates a lot. Kit-kat is my all time bae and nothing can compare with that absolute perfectionism in the chocolate industry.

Speaking of sweets, what are the authentic sweets in your area? Anytime I imagine the variety of sweets in the west, I can only think of baked stuff and chocolates. In Asia we have a huge variety of sweets. We can produce a sweet delicacy out of anything, even bottleguard. I love coconut sweets, they are dope!
