Undiscovered words in your favorite song

What’s yours?

Okay so I noticed another thing I feel is worth sharing. Do you all remember how in childhood our teachers told us that we should always read our textbooks to understand the subject properly? While this tip helped me immensely in senior classes, today I realised how repeatedly listening to or reading the same text always brings new details into light that can change the entire meaning of that piece. Listening to my playlist yet again while doing the dishes, I noticed a couple lines in Water Fountain by Alec Benjamin that I found to be unheard before. For a while I was confused if it is some other version of the song playing, which it wasn’t. And these two lines changed the entire context of the following verses. Even listening to music can be an experience. Every time you discover a new beat, a new verse. It’s actually quite fun. No, I am not here to preach how experiencing-everything-we-do-should-be-your-life’s-motive because honestly that’s bullshit. If you make living your life a task, is it really living your life? Discovering small details here and there and living through the rush of excitement it gives you makes life life, doesn’t it? These are some unexpected twists of life with only good energy, so why make it a tiring chase?

Give me more music

Okay so I need some music recommendations folks. The song of the day part in every post of mine is a clear indication that I love music. I have written multiple blogs on the same too. However, as always, algorithm just doesn’t get human taste, so I want all of you to drop any track you want to recommend. I listen to all kinds of music so it’s not like I won’t enjoy classical jazz or upbeat funk, give me any tunes you like.

Song of the day!!

Battle Cry by Beth Crowley. Splendid lyricism and execution, listen to this one carefully to feel the depth it is meant to give.

The theme of love in songs

It’s no secret that music and words are powerful

I wonder so many times, the theme of love is the most common in songwriting. Be it about the good parts or the bad parts, love is written about and expressed in so many different ways. Is it the way words are articulated that we are drawn to them even if we have never experienced such emotions? Or is it the beats and the music that make it a banger? Maybe the abundance of music in this theme has made love overrated, making us want things just because we have been listening about it, not because we really desire it. There is so much to explore, and so much to think about…

Song of the day!!

Burn by Corbyn. Another track surrounding the theme above, the music seems to have been produced patiently.

Sorting my playlist is harder than I thought

These days I am listening to my playlist with shuffle off to sort through this long ass list and remove the songs I no longer wish to listen to.

With shuffle on, the app automatically plays the songs I have most recently heard or like. I also do not have the power to read a track’s title and remove it because I don’t like it.

So now I am listening to every track and sorting through my playlist. It’s very much harder than I thought. I love music. I am fond of every melody playing through. But I need to remove the songs that I don’t relate to now or don’t vibe with as much as I used to earlier. It really is a task.

Song of the day!!

Fantasy by Lauren Spencer Smith, Em Beihold & GAYLE. I like the use of varying vocal ranges.

Forgets about new songs

Is it just me or do y’all also forget that you have certain songs in your playlist? I have aver 300 songs in mine, and I know most of them by heart. But there are still many that on hearing, I go, “This is in my playlist too!?” It’s like I am listening to them for the first time. Happens with you too?

Song of the day!!

Uh oh by Tate McRae. A groovy party track about making bad decisions. I ike the hook at the chorus.

The Emo Stage of Life

The stage is never only a teenage phase. Anyone can have it. And anyone can deal with it well.

When we hear those songs about destroying someone who wronged us, and find them relatable, are we reflecting our anger or our we setting negativity in ourselves deliberately? Ever wondered?

When we are heartbroken, we drown ourselves in so much self-pity that we find everything relatable that mentions something similar to our situation. We hear “you broke me” and we think the song is comepletely about us. The singer will say “Now I am heartless, or petty, or depressed, or evil” and we grip onto the lyrics so hard we think we should be like that. And then we change ourselves to become that. All while being completely unaware of it.

Think from a spiritual perspective. Is channeling our energy in anger and pettiness really wise if we’re not moving on? No matter what the other person has done, you have the ability to monitor your thoughts. I’m not saying that you shall not feel angry or sad or want to break their window. But is it worth it if these feelings are causing you even more harm than what that other person did? The other person only wounded you, you’re the one chopping your legs off.

So what do we do now?

How about acknowledging our feelings and trying to move on simultaeneously? Break their window, but repair your house as well. If you’re only focusing on the anger and not channeling it into improving yourself, then what are you getting from that anger? The singers are only singing the lyrics. And their music is hit because they are channeling their anger in productivity. I’m not asking you to not listen to such music. I am asking you to be aware of your own feelings and think.

Song of the day!!

I hope ur miserable until ur dead by Nessa Barrett. I like the music and the vocals for this one.

Headaches

I know I am different, ok?

When people have headaches, they want their surroundings to be quiet. They want silence and peace. I am the total opposite. The silence makes my head pound even harder. I listen to hard rock at high volume on my headset to feel better. And it really helps. Hard rock always calms me and headaches are no exceptions. Except when it gets too severe, then I prefer pop.

Song of the dayy…

Heathens by Biometrix (Twenty-One Pilots cover). I find this version much more better than the original. The beats and music suit more to the lyrics in this. I listened to this first then the original and I was kinda shocked how original the cover sounds. It’s really good and I can listen to it at any given moment- always lifts my mood.
