Undiscovered words in your favorite song

What’s yours?

Okay so I noticed another thing I feel is worth sharing. Do you all remember how in childhood our teachers told us that we should always read our textbooks to understand the subject properly? While this tip helped me immensely in senior classes, today I realised how repeatedly listening to or reading the same text always brings new details into light that can change the entire meaning of that piece. Listening to my playlist yet again while doing the dishes, I noticed a couple lines in Water Fountain by Alec Benjamin that I found to be unheard before. For a while I was confused if it is some other version of the song playing, which it wasn’t. And these two lines changed the entire context of the following verses. Even listening to music can be an experience. Every time you discover a new beat, a new verse. It’s actually quite fun. No, I am not here to preach how experiencing-everything-we-do-should-be-your-life’s-motive because honestly that’s bullshit. If you make living your life a task, is it really living your life? Discovering small details here and there and living through the rush of excitement it gives you makes life life, doesn’t it? These are some unexpected twists of life with only good energy, so why make it a tiring chase?

Presenting a small part of my reading list

way too small tbh

Bloganuary day 27: What books do you want to read?

Oh this is a lovely question!

*cracks knuckles because this is going to be a long one

First off, I want to read Khalid Husseini’s books. My peers in a book club have talked so much about his books, I want to read too. From what I have heard, he writes intense books and I am always up for things that make me reflect.

I have an extremely long reading list. So another desperate read is Serpentine, the biography of Jeffrey Dahmer. I am heavily into the working of the human mind, especially criminal mind.

I also want to read A Silent Coup. A popular classic.

Another I have next in my reading list is Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyvensky. Dostoyvensky’s books are often discussed in the reader’s communities as some great literature so of course I gained interest. Plus the title of this book recommended to me poked my brain.

The books mentioned above highlight my interests and there is a reason I have listed these out of that plentiful list I have in my notes. Recommend me more books folks, there is never enough!

Keep Your Head Up Princess by Anson Seabra. Everyone carefully listen to the lyrics while watching the music video, and you’ll understand why I like it.

When a person has a designated word

that’s their literal opposite!

Bloganuary day 21: Write about your first name: its meaning, significance, etymology, etc.

I don’t wish to reveal my name, however, I can share its origins and meaning.

My name is an ancient Sanskrit term meaning beautiful inside out. Mom told me the the meaning, and I caught that its a Sanskrit term when I read a poem by the renowned Tulsidas in which the word was mentioned. I looked up the etymology now however, and turns out that the term has originally been used as a metaphorical adjective in the context of calm, beautiful, fulfilling things, mostly flowers, and worshipping. It has no relation with the sinfully sweet sugar either.

I physically gagged on the revelation and spent a whole hour trying to find more information but at the end, this is what I am led to. My name means sweet. Gross. What is this, sunshine character of a sloppy rom com where her life is entirely planned? If it meant sugary sweet I would have still adjusted because of my love for sugar. But my name has often been used in religious contexts and has way too close ties with religious texts. I feel like Sophie Neveu from The Da Vinci Code. Before writing the blog, I was reading the book and now I feel like I am part of it. Amazing experience I must say!! I am the least religious, least flower like person. My name is my antonym lmao.

Among the multiple meanings in different languages, one meaning that caught a significant part of my attention was ‘the handle of a dagger, sword, or such weapons.’ I would have loved this meaning. So close! The name often appears as a name for different species of flora too.

Song of the day!!

Stay Done by Tate McRae. The vocals are absolutely splendid, a standing ovation is a must!!
